Abstract Risk explores thepolitical, economic and technological history financialization and its aesthetico-politcal fabric. It uses the derivative contract, financial capitalisms core technical innovation, as a conceptual lens to analyse ways of seeing and mediating specific to todays political economy, creating an affect of relative indifference and detachment. Uncertainty (for example connected to climate change) becomes seemingly calcuable and tradable risk through computational and economic operations and related visual practices of representation. Out of this research, the video work The Witching Hour emerged. Supervised by Albert Lang, Lukas Feireiss and Johannes Pointner.
